What is Project Life?

Most of you that know me already know what this is.  Well, you know that I take a picture a day for an entire year.  But do you know what I do with those pictures?  I don't leave them on Facebook (well, I do), but I actually put them in a binder with journaling cards to capture each day as it happens.

As I mentioned in my last post, the idea came from Becky Higgins.  She started PL in 2009.  I was living in Kentucky at the time and I remember as soon as her kits went online, they sold out almost instantly.  I had to wait almost two months to purchase my first kit when they would be in stock again.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on it, but I started my project with pictures on the 1st of January as planned.

So what's this kit?  Well, let me show you.  Up until this year, the kit came all together.  Now the kit is sold into pieces so you can buy things as you need them.  I use the entire kit so I buy the whole thing.  One thing I don't have is the dividers for the months, those were sold out, so I will pick them up this month through Amazon when they are back in stock.  This year the kits look like this... (there's the Cobalt and the Clementine edition.  I went with Clementine.)

Here is the "core kit."
Inside it, we have the journaling cards, stickers for the dates and days of the week, and decorative cards.

It comes with four packs of journaling cards (the size of a deck of cards)  Here's one deck...

And I have the binder for it all to go into. (my pictures and journaling).

On the inside, Becky has a layout for people to follow (you don't have to, you can create your own front introductory page)

And this year she's also offering an array of page protectors.  Those, aren't pictured, but I do have quite the assortment.  I like to shoot a lot of vertical pictures, so she's got the page protectors for horizontal and vertical pictures.  She also offers big page protector envelopes, which I plan on using for the kids school work that I'd like to keep this year.  The page protectors are 12x12, and she does have some 6x12 too.

All of these items can be found on www.amazon.com under Becky Higgins.  But act soon because things have gone quickly!

Now you know what I do with my pictures!  I love putting these books together.  My family enjoys them and together as a family we work on this book.  It's a great way to keep track of important times in our lives.  Funny things that our kids say, sweet memories, family, friends... you name it.

Even if you don't want to take a picture every single day, you don't have to!  That's the beauty of it.  You can customize it your own way.  A picture a week, a picture a month..... I love my Project life!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a kind comment! So glad to see someone else's project life! I've been following along, but this will be the first year I get involved with it. (After those page protectors are back in stock. lol) I am keeping a journal (plus my blog) and am gathering my photos to print out for each day. I love to scrapbook, but lately there just hasn't been time. I'm looking forward to tackling this simplified "DO-ABLE" version. And look at me ramble on! lol I'll quit taking up all your comment space now. Have a wonderful day and I can't wait to see your progress!
