How do I know so much about that lens and why do I think I want/NEED it so badly? Well let me tell and show you why! :)
I take football pictures every single weekend of our local team. I am their team photographer and therefore I am one of the only parents allowed on the field besides the coaches. (YES!) I love action photography and football and soccer are two of my favorites to shoot. I currently shoot with a Sigma 70-300mm 5.6. It's a nice lens... it serves it's purpose and for the most part, I am happy with it.
While on the field on Saturday, a grandfather of one of the teammates came up to me and showed me his lens and then asked if I'd like to trade lenses during the second half of the game. UH... yes! So we did and oh my goodness.... the difference is AMAZING. Seriously.... I only believe in love at first sight when my kids are born, but seriously... I felt love at first sight. I didn't want to give it back! Let me show you the awesome pictures I took with this beast... yeah!
Do you see what I mean? These pictures are great. I love each and every one of them. They are clear and really show some detail. This lens is just fabulous. However, with a price tag that it comes with (only $2500.00), it's pretty much out of the question for me. Hey what can I say? I've got three kids and my kids come before me and my toys. Sigh... but still... it's an amazing dream.
To show you the difference with the F stop's, here are the pictures I took with my lens, the Sigma 70-300mm F5.6 You can really tell the difference.
Can't really tell the difference, or can you? That's the thing, I CAN see the difference and it drives me crazy. I really, really want that lens. So... with that being said, my birthday IS in a couple of days... so... if you were wondering what to get me... heheheheeee......
