Trip to Wright Park...eventually.

My mother-in-law had open heart surgery this past week.  She's doing great for recovery.  We aren't sure when she'll be out of the hospital yet and into a rehab center, but we are currently watching her puppy.  At this rate, I'm not sure if she'll get her puppy back because we have all fallen in love with him, to include my husband I think.  You tell me... isn't he cute?

When we are away, he is put into his kennel.  However, at night, he sleeps with my oldest son.  I think my son is going to miss him a lot when he goes back home with nana.  We already have two dogs of our own so we really don't need another dog.  Besides, my cat is really jealous of him.  They play, but I think my kitten is just a little too rough.  It's cute to watch them go at it, especially since they are the same age.  Oh yeah... I didn't tell you about my new kitten?  Well... this is Ernie.  He's about 13 weeks old now.  I adopted him from the Humane Society.

Isn't he adorable, too?  Yeah... we love our new baby kitty.  He's sure a busy little guy though!

This past week, my parents were involved in a bad accident.  Thankfully, everything is ok.  My parents still hurt from the accident.  My dad said that he was driving down the road and a truck pulled out of a business, right in front of them and my dad had no time to react at all.  Airbags were deployed.  My mom was sent to the hospital, via ambulance to get checked out.  My dad has a bad cut on his hand.  Luckily, the guy has insurance and my dad also has full coverage as well as GAP insurance.  Here are some pictures of his van...

Despite all the rough news for my mother-in-law and my parents, I was able to start my December Daily a few days ago.  I only worked on the cover.  I won't start the inside until around the first part of November.  Check it out.  I really loved how the cover looked on CK's Nov-Dec issue, so I really just scraplifted it.

I even made a card for a good friend of mine that lives in Michigan.  I was pretty worried though because it took over a week for her to recieve it.  Apparently on cards, it requires two stamps for postage.  Hmm, silly.

Oh yes... I also managed to celebrate a birthday a couple of weeks ago.  Nothing special.  I spent the evening at my best friend's house with my husband and kids.  My husband bought me a cake.  I love how he says I'm 29.  I'm really 35 and honestly, I'm ok with being 35.  I never threw a fit about being this age, so I don't know why he went with the 29.  I will definitely appreciate that though here in the next five years. :)  Am I right?  I bet I am...

Anyway, I see I got distracted here a bit.  This blog post was supposed to be about a trip to Wright Park, so let me get back on with that.  I've been wanting to go to Wright Park ever since the leaves started to change.  The park has beautiful oak and chestnut trees and I was hoping to see some amazing colors.  Well, I certainly wasn't disappointed on that!  The only thing I was bummed out about is that it was raining and has been raining for days, so everything is really wet right now.  My family managed to still have a leaf pile fight though and we found some chestnuts, which the kids collected to roast later on in the next couple of days.  I wanted to get some cute pictures of my kids at the park, but really... they weren't having it.  I forgot there was a park there, so they were more interested in the wet park than my need for pictures of them.  And they weren't really dressed up for pictures, which, I have never really cared about.  I mean.. these are my kids.  We have never been "dress up" kind of people, even for church.  Ok... well, maybe my husband likes to dress up, but forget that.  I'm a jeans/tee-shirt/sweatshirt wearing kind of girl.
Check out these beautiful pictures from Wright Park...

What did I tell you?  Isn't it a beautiful park?  I'm hoping my family and I can go back again soon and get some actual pictures of us.  I would love to make a Christmas card there.  Even in the Spring and Summer, the park is gorgeous.  It's a wonderful place to visit.

Anyway, thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to look around!  Much love!
