Anyway, here a few of my favorite pictures from the summer. The first one is of my daughter, finally going down the curly slide that she's been so afraid of since they built it. She went down right after this picture was taken and LOVED it. She went down it about a dozen more times afterwards.
Over the fourth of July weekend, my husband, kids and I all packed up and headed to the ocean with some close friends of ours for four days of camping. We had such a great time. It was very relaxing and the weather was perfect for it. This is my daughter's second time at the ocean... first time she was only a month old so of course she doesn't remember... so when she saw the ocean this time, she was so overcome by it's beauty. "it's just so.... so..... BEAUTIFUL!!"
In the Spring while my oldest son was playing baseball, another parent was talking us into tackle football for the boys. I was a little leary at first, considering my oldest son is not a fan of getting hurt. My husband insisted that this would be good for him, so we started him. My husband then informed me that he wanted our second son to start playing as well. (pictured above) I really put my foot down on that one because I was so afraid of injuries, but as you can see, my husband won, and my youngest son here loves it.
My grandma's birthday is in the summer and this year she turned 87. Grandma is feeling pretty well for her age and is doing well. I love her so much and I really value her and her stories that she tells us. I have so many memories from when I was a kid with my grandma. All the cookies that we would bake together, all of the shopping we would do... the trips we went on. Oh yes... my grandma is one of my favorite people. I love her so much. Here she is, with my three kids...
So while we have both boys in tackle football, practice is five days a week. Soon to be only four (thank you!) However, with it being tackle, I expect the boys to be the ones hurt, not my silly little girl. We were at practice, and this dog was chasing his ball and happen to run right over her and she ended up with a shoulder sprain. It took about two weeks for it to fully heal.
(silly girl getting ready to get her x-rays taken)
Have a great week!
