A little quiet getaway

James and I married at such a young age. We got married at 20 years old... we could not afford a wedding so we eloped. We had a reception a few weeks later, but there was so much tention with the family because we got married, we couldn't enjoy ourselves. And of course, there was no honeymoon. We were too poor. A few months later he shipped off to boot camp for the Army and right after, I got pregnant, thus starting our family. So I knew there'd never be time for just him and I after that.

Now that our three children are a little older, James and I do get time to ourselves. With the help of his mother and my parents, we are able to get away sometimes... to enjoy each other, to reconnect, to bond. I love it. Our last little trip was to Moclips, WA. Why have I never been here? It's just north of Ocean Shores and below Pacific Beach. It's very quiet with not many people around at all... the beach is perfect. Litered with lots of razor clams, sand dollars, washed up (eaten) crabs and fish... it's a neat little place to explore. James and I spent the night on Friday night a couple of weeks ago, walking up and down the shore... sometimes just walking in silence. We stayed at a lovely, cozy little resort, but laughed at the price of food at their 5 star restaurant. We laughed because down in Pacific Beach there is a Navy resort that we didn't know exsisted. We spent most of our time there looking around at all of the cool things they had to offer there... free movie theater, free bowling, a restaurant where you could pronounce what was on the menu and where you didn't have to give them your first born to eat there. We know next time that we will be staying there at the Navy resort.

They have cabins that have four bedrooms for 90.00 a night. Just perfect for a family of 8-10! (not that I would take everyone there.) lol
