Later that night after work, he went right to work. I expected him to wait until the weekend to make it, but he really wanted to make it that night. It seemed pretty easy, he followed the recipe word for word so I thought maybe he had a shot at this. Of course with my camera in hand, I took a ton of pictures. When he poured it out onto our counter top and started to pull it together, he enlisted the help of our boys to start pulling the taffy. I think they maybe lasted 2 minutes. lol It was pretty tough to pull. So I gave my son the camera and had him be my photographer while James and I worked. It was looking pretty good and after it had cooled down, we tried a piece. It was pretty good, (vanilla) but it was very chewy. Within 20 minutes of it cooling completely and all wrapped up in individual wax paper, it was hard as a rock!! We couldn't even bite it. Ha ha... I told him it wouldn't work.
this is a little place just for me in this big, big world. A place for my thoughts, my dreams, my happiness.... my creative outlet. A place where I can show off my family, my life and my love for all things.

Laugh(y) Taffy
Every day James comes to my work to have lunch with me. I only get 30 minutes, but it's enough time where him and I enjoy each other's company without any interuptions. We usually just sit inside his SUV and hang out and eat lunch. Well the other day he mentions that he wants to make some taffy. I told him that we already tried that a few years ago and it didn't turn out at all. I remember we were about 19 years old and his mom had made it and him and I pulled the taffy together. I remember how hard the taffy was to eat after it had cooled... it was so hard that you had to suck on it. I told him that it probably wouldn't work out and he insisted we make some taffy. I finally gave in, maybe this time we'll find a different recipe for it so it's nice and chewy.
