I feel bad! I literally haven't touched my blog in a year. We've had quite a great year and I haven't even bothered to share it. Most of my life details end up on Facebook, anyway. I don't like to write about negativity because for one, that doesn't help anybody. I'm not saying that I do not throw myself a pity-party every once in awhile (hey, everyone is entitled!) but it's rarely something I throw out there on FB.
Anyway, that being said, we ended 2012 on a bummer note. (wait, didn't I just say I wasn't going to write about negativity?) Anyway.... my daughter was sick the entire month of December so that really dampened our plans that we had. After 4 trips to the doctor, we finally discovered it was a nasty upper respiratory virus! On December 23rd, my husband came down with what she had and I ended up with the stomach flu for three days. Yes, right through Christmas. So we had to cancel Christmas plans with family.
When the new year for 2013 came around, I was DETERMINED to let this be our year! No more bad things. 2012 wasn't a happy year for us. Lots of personal stuff. At times I felt like we'd never catch a break. So we welcomed 2013 a fresh start. And boy, has it been amazing!
This year my husband got a promotion, we both bought brand new cars, which for us that was a first! We've always had used! The kids have been doing an amazing job in school, my husband ran in a few mud runs, we went on a couple of little trips and my husband and I celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary! We are ending this year on a fabulous note... we bought a new house!
I will say that these things (good things) have not come easy. They weren't handed down to us. We've worked really hard for our family and will continue to do so. It's just great that this year has been a happy year of celebration!
My kids did get sick in September. My husband and I joked that maybe they are getting the sickness out of the way so we aren't sick during Christmas this time! Wouldn't that be nice.
We feel blessed. We have amazing friends and family that support us. A strong marriage in the eyes of the Lord and we have wonderful children, also a blessing from above. Every day I wake up feeling blessed, whether it's a good day or a bad day!
Anyway, that's just a vague update on us. We are still around and hopefully (do I dare say it?) I keep my blog more updated throughout the rest of this year and 2014.
