This picture was taken during the week when we got about a foot of snow. I had fallen down the stairs and I was laying in bed and heard a fire truck roll up. I was hoping it wasn't for me (thinking the boys might have called) it was actually for my neighbor. He's doing just fine.
This next picture is what I came across when I came home from work. My daughter was in paint and had written I like my mom and dad. Of course she's too young to know about how to space the words. Still adorable.
These days were rare! Sunshine and blue sky in January! We took advantage of nice days like this while the rest of the country was under feet of snow.
My daughter was really upset one day. After waiting all weekend to see if her friend could come over and play, she found out her friend couldn't. So, she drew this picture in a way to express her feelings.
My poor baby girl... sickness came in our house a lot in the beginning of the year.
Not every day was sunshine and rainbows in our household. My son was upset at me because his friend was sick and he wanted to go to her house. I told him "no," and this was the look I got. I told him with her being sick, it wasn't a good idea for him to be going to her house. So yes, he was mad at me.
We love to act as silly as we can. Here my husband is carrying on a conversation with the boys while my daughter is dancing up a storm.
In March, I had gone down to Portland, Oregon to meet up with some friends for the CKC. I had such a great time. I'm looking forward to meeting up with my friends again in August in Wenatchee.
For a week, the boys and I did a Lego theme. It was fun to see what they could create. Here's my oldest with just some of their Lego people.
We've had some really nice days towards the end of March. It got me really excited for Spring. We planted some wild flowers in these pots.
I'm constantly spying on my kids. I can't stand not knowing what they are doing outside at all times. I guess I'm one of those over-protective moms. Regardless, it's nice to see my kids play together so well. My husband and I are pretty lucky to have some amazing kids who look out for each other.
We must not forget about our furry family members too! They are just as much apart of our family as my husband, kids and I are. We love our two dogs and two cats very much!
My kids love the Spring, especially when it's not raining and they can get outside and play. This year my daughter has really taken an interest in sidewalk chalk. I love her creative imagination!
A little bit of Spring rain doesn't stop my husband from BBQing! We are true Washingtonians.
This is our other dog... he's my big baby. He's everywhere that I am.
My hsuband and kids enjoying an evening picnic. It wasn't raining, but it was a little windy and chilly, so my daughter wanted to set up the umbrellas to protect them from the wind.
My husband's birthday was in May. I surprised him with an Iron Man birthday cake since we had just seen the Avengers.
One of the only family photos we have ever taken. I know, silly, isn't it? Especially since I always have the camera around. I was originally going to take pictures of just my husband and the kids for Father's Day, but my friend had me jump into the picture too. The very next day I ran out to Costco and had this turned into an 11x14 and framed. It still needs to be hung on the wall, but this is definitely one of my favorite photos.
My dad had started something with my daughter this year. He brings over doughnuts every Sunday morning. And if he doesn't show up with doughnuts, she makes sure to call him up. He hasn't forgotten a Sunday yet.
Summer time means it's time to go catch everything outside that you can. The kids just love these little frogs that we find all over the place. I won't lie, I even think they are cute!
We even enjoy a good game of bowling with the kids. That's what we did for my youngest son's birthday this year. We had a family birthday party at the bowling alley. Fun was had by all for sure!
Like I said, it doesn't seem possible that half the year has zoomed by. This Summer will be fun and busy for us for sure. The boys are starting up football for the Summer/Fall and we plan on a few trips to the ocean, the zoo, the parks, camping, and other venues. Whew, pretty soon it will be time to go school shopping and setting the table for Thanksgiving!
I hope the rest of your year is awesome!!
