Batter up! Oh wait... you better duck!! Ouch!

We had an afternoon baseball game today up at the high school.  We got to play on the nice baseball field, the one that actually had nice bleachers and real dug-outs for the players.  It was fun for the boys, as well as the parents.  I was especially pleased when the officials said that I could be on the field and take pictures.  Otherwise, I'd be taking pictures through the fence like the rest of the parents.

The boys did real well this afternoon.  We had a pitcher on the other team that threw a lot of inside pitches, causing our boys to duck out of the way.  Check these out here...

I believe the pitcher managed to hit three of our kids in all, to include my son.  He took a good, hard pitch right to the left shoulder.  It bounced off and almost got him in the face.  My son doesn't handle injury very well, so my husband and I rushed to his aid and talked him into walking it off.  He didn't want to at first, but he finally did.  The crowd cheered for him and my husband I were quite proud that he stayed in.

All in all, the boys played outstanding.  We ended up beating the other team, 8-3.  It was a great game and like I said, I'm so glad my son stayed in the game.  This is a big milestone for him!  (You'd understand, if I told you he already got hit during different practices 4 times.  He's like a ball magnet I think!)  Really!
