The boys stayed the night at my parents house Saturday night and my parents took the kids to Fantasy Lights. It is a park where you drive through it and look at all the Christmas light displays while you listen to the local radio station play Christmas music. We go through every year. James, the kids and I are going to go next weekend after we go to Zoo Lights. Zoo Lights is the same concept, only you walk around outside at night at the zoo to look at lights. I hope it doesn't rain when we go. The boys also went to the mall with grandma and grandpa today to see Santa Claus. I was kind of hoping that we could take the kids ourselves, but my parents wanted to. Yes, we could have gone with, but my husband wasn't feeling up to it.
Sunday while the kids were with grandma and grandpa, I baked some holiday cookies and James watched some football. Our daughter played and watched the snow flurries as they fell from the sky. I'm so surprised to see snow so early in the year. It's been an extremely cold week for us in Washington, with lows in the single digits at night time. I went outside today while the snow fell and snapped a couple of pictures.
James and I did go to the Nikon Roadshow that we had at our PX on Saturday. (the Post Exchange on Ft. Lewis) I've been thinking about upgrading my D40 camera to either the D90 or the D5000. I did find out that Santa Claus is bringing me two new lenses and a couple of tripods. I am going to be getting a high power zoom lens (70-300mm) and a new 18-55mm lens since my 18-55mm died last March. I've been using my 55-200mm lens for all of my photos and it's extremely hard to take photos indoors with it because it's also a zoom lens. I've been using different types of aperture and settings on my camera to practice some of my photography.
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
