No place like home!

It's so good to finally be back in my home state. I absolutely love the beauty of Washington state. Sure, Kentucky was beautiful in the Spring and Summer, but there's nothing like seeing evergreen trees year-round here, where in Kentucky everything dies off in the Winter, completely! I don't mind the rain here... that just makes every sunny day we have here really special! But I love how the rain here doesn't stop me from doing anything. When it rains, that seems like a perfect day to head to the book store and cuddle up with a good book or watch a movie at home or even scrapbook some sunny pages!!

Anyway, we had a rough time getting back home from Kentucky. We drove across the country, my husband pulling a U-haul trailer with our boys in the car with him, my mother-in-law in her car with her cats and me in my car with my daughter and my two cats. I never realized how great it is to travel with two kitties. I have the best travel buddies right there! Of course, with the help of the DVD player and Spongebob Squarepants, my daughter made it home quietly as well.

Anyway, our original plan was to head up through South Dakota and take I-90, but they had a snow storm so we decided to go through Kansas, into Denver and head up that way to Washington. Well that same snowstorm that hit South Dakota quickly moved south and was due to hit Denver the same time we would be traveling through. So we had to back out of Kansas and go through Nebraska on I-70, all the way through Wyoming. As we were going through the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming, we hit some rough weather, blowing snow... my husband's SUV slipped on some ice as he was driving and with the winds, it blew him and the U-haul off the freeway into the median. It was quite scary because it actually looked like he rolled the SUV, but he didn't. Everyone was ok to include the car and trailer, but everyone was shaken up pretty bad. Luckily after that, we made it home just fine.

Here's some pictures from our travels!!
