Boy I tell ya, this state has offered so much to us. 12 inches of snow when we got here, thunderstorms, tornado warnings, warm weather, an EARTHQUAKE and now a bird! In my HOUSE! My mom-in-law is the one that caught it and put it outside. We thought it would fly away, but it just sat there! I ran to get my camera while the boys got some water for it. They thought it might be thirsty. I took a couple of pictures of it. The boys wanted to pet it. I didn't think that was a great idea! Look at it's beak!!

Hi from a fellow CKMB'er! Your post here reminds me of our move TO Washington...we're from West TX, and we'd just lived in San Fran - QUAKE CENTRAL - but never had even one tiny little quake. We move to Seattle in 1999, and, lo and behold, were there for the Nisqually quake! Scared the jeebers outta me - I never knew WA was an earthquake state, to be honest! Then, add to that the daily news reports of Mt. Baker blowing off steam and Mt. Rainier experiencing some "minor" mud flows, and this desert rat was more than happy to get back home!!! :)
Love your blog! See ya on the boards!
Kellie
